This little series (like most of my work, both large and small) is made almost entirely from found and salvaged materials. The pill packaging is from one of the sedatives I have to take every night for chronic insomnia. The wood, Trivial Pursuit cards and tiny figures are found, the screws are salvaged from broken household appliances. Only the PVA glue is new. Pill blister-packs have long reminded me of capsule hotels, cryogenic chambers or retro-futuristic apartment windows, and unfortunately I have produced a lot of them as waste over the past 7 years. So I have been looking for ways to use them. These tiny figures and tiny phrases fitted perfectly with a poetry in their association e.g.  Peter Sellers appears as three different characters in Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove, including an RAF officer. There are similar implied narratives in the others, both real and fictional like the paranoid, scattered associations of early morning, half awake thoughts.
